Nandini voice for the deprived is organizing an essay competition on the topic Plus and Minus of Indian Democracy in Seven Decades – What Correctives Needed? The objective of the essay competition is to provide an opportunity to Indian citizens to introspect on the subject and provide their views and suggestions. The highlights of views of the participants would be submitted to President, Prime Minister, Lok Sabha Speaker and Rajya Sabha Chairman and the media. All Indian citizens can participate in the competition. The essay can be written in English, Tamil or Hindi and Maximum number of words should be 1500. Five prizes would be awarded to the best of entries from students and five more prizes would be awarded to the best of entries from others. Greater Chennai Corporation constructed new park at  Ramachandran Street, Santhosh Nagar, Mugalivakkam. It was inaugurate by Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami through video conference on July 16.  M. Govinda Rao (GCC's Asst. Commissioner) welcomed the gathering and mentioned that the park is 5211 sq.ft and built at a cost of 85 lakhs and the sidewalk which will be useful for walkers and joggers, mediation stage and children’s play area with all other facilities. On beha lf of Mugalivakkam general public Sethuraman thanked the Chief Minister and the Tamil Nadu Government for providing the modern park and its facilities which will be useful to all, seniors and children in particular. Ramki (Cartoonist) said Porur Times that a park is the biggest park in their area and very useful to get natural air and keep their health fit. Public should keep the park as much clean and neat as possible.

On account of World Population Day, students of class 6 to 8 of Velammal Main School (Mugappair  Campus) participated in an awareness rally to promote the ill  effects of population explosion. The students displayed placards to raise the voice against over population and to save our earth from explosion. As a part of this occasion, an awareness speech on the theme of World Population Day 2018 was conveyed to the students.

They provided dust bins and 100 saplings for the creation of herbal garden in school campu s. Ramkisore (Sr.Manager) and Sreekanth (Asst.Manager) demonstrated the students on Swachatha pagwada cleanliness activities. The school was declared as plastic free school. Refreshments, caps and health kits were given to the students.
