The Vedanta Academy CBSE School (Vanagaram) hosted the 2nd Neela Kesav Rolling Trophy Tournament (2018) on August 18, an inter-school football tournament for boys and throwball tournament for girls under 14 years of age. 22 teams of football and 16 teams of throwball showcased their teamwork and sportsmanship. The tournament was presided over by the Director of Vedanta Academy (CBSE) Sundeep Vasu, Dr.Divya Sathish (The Governing Council Member) and R. Pratheepa (Principal). A.D. Sukavaneshwar (International Basketball player) was the special guest. In the Football tournament, the boys of SBOA Matriculation School, (Anna Nagar) lifted the winner’s rolling trophy, The PSBB school (K.K.Nagar) secured the first runner up and the second runner up trophy was taken up by the ChinmayaVidyalaya (Anna Nagar). Velammal Main School, Mogappair Campus, U-14 girls Throwball team won the Neelakeshav Rolling Trophy with a tremendous score of 15-3, 15-2. It was organized and conducted by Vedanta Academy, Vanagaram recently. S Niveditha, Std 9 was awarded for the best player. They competed against 18 schools.

As a part of Karka Kasadara project, Lion Era Baskaran (President of Lions club of Mugalivakkam) donated pencil box kit to Chennai Primary School (Mugalivakkam). Above 250 students were received this kit.

Students of Velammal Main School, Mugappair Campus paid a floral tribute to the flood victims of Kerala on August 24. A two minute silence was observed to mark their concern over the victims. The occasion was finally wrapped up by praying and wishing everything back to normal in Kerala. 

Arundhati Sahani, Std.5 of Velammal Vidyalaya Annexure participated in Skating Competition held at Svasthika International Skating Rink, Coimbatore organised by Coimbatore District Skating Association from July 28 to July 29. Velammal Main School, Mogappair Campus celebrated its 33rd ‘Annual Sports Fiesta’ and ‘72nd Independence Day’ on August 15, in its premises. The campus looked very colourful and gay. Aravind Anna Durai (International Basketball player) hoisted the Olympic flag and declared the Sports meet open. Gunasekar (Asst. Commissioner of Police, Annanagar) hoisted the National Flag. The Flag song and the March Past kindled the patriotism among the spectators. Victory March, Aerobics, Mass Drill, Kids Yoga, Silambattam were the high lights of the day. The session ended with cultural programme and Beating the Retreat.

Independence day celebrated at Tiny Feet play school, Kothari nagar, Ramapuram. Kids dressed up like national leaders. The chief guest, Raman (Retd. Tahsildar and Magistrate) delivered the Independence day speech. He also honoured the prize winners.

As part of their project Karka Kasadra, Lions club of Chennai Mugalivakkam painted the black boards of Primary School in Mugalivakkam recently. The club has adopted the school for the benefit of the students.
